Training Academy
Our recently refurbished training school is a bespoke centre for development across a variety of disciplines. The school is used for both internal & external requirements. We are a UKATA registered training provider and our courses fully comply with the requirements of HS(G) 247 (Chapter 4). The downstairs area compromises of a practical training area, whilst upstairs is a classroom for theoretical and touchscreen tests.
Asbestos practical training includes the erection and dismantling of enclosures. Fault bays are also setup to prepare the workforce for any hazardous situations that may occur including electrical faults, trip hazards etc. Face-fit tests are undertaken to prove that the individual is suitable for work.
Working at height training is given on the purpose built unit, which has a typical kitchen canopy and deep fat fryer to allow the training of Ventilation Hygiene operatives to take place. Again a fault bay is present within this area to illustrate the importance of highlighting any dangers.
A section of ductwork is connected to the unit to allow the practice of cutting access doors into different types and locations of ductwork. Fans, isolators, fire dampers etc are also present throughout the ductwork to typify site conditions. Confined space training is also undertaken in this area.
Practical training on MEWPs & genies allows both asbestos and ventilation operatives an opportunity to work at height under guidance.
Presentations and DVD’s are shown as part of the training process. Touchscreen training tests that we currently undertake are:
- HVCA Ventilation Course Green Book
- Food hygiene
- Confined space
- Working at height
- Mewps/genie training
- First aid
- Manual handling
- Abrasive wheels
- General Health & Safety Awareness Training
- 3 day Asbestos Awareness Course New Operatives
- Asbestos Awareness Course
Other Training that is completed at the Training school includes, but is not limited to confined space, working at height, MEWPS/genie training, first aid, food hygiene, manual handling, and abrasive wheels.
Ductclean (UK) Ltd is licensed to provide HVCA Greenbook Training to all operatives within our Ventilation Hygiene Division. We currently have several operatives undergoing this long assessment process and look to training all operatives in the future. This is a fairly new training course for our company, as we only introduced it in 2008. Our operatives are subject to continuous monitoring, auditing and site based training.
